Anaid back on road to Yamba bringing her musical magic

FROM the rolling hills of Nimbin comes the musical magic of Diana Anaid and this weekend residents of the Valley will get a very special opportunity to see her in full flight with a performance in Yamba.

Anaid is currently taking some well-earned time out from recording her fifth studio album to get back to doing what she loves most - getting out on the road and sharing her music with the people.

And her tour will bring her to Yamba's Pacific Hotel this Saturday night.

Anaid has garnered high praise from many Australian and overseas music publications.

Rolling Stone said her music contains an "emotional and sometimes primal energy", while Juice called her "a major talent."

A proficient songwriter and hard-working touring musician, Anaid has countless national tours and appearances under her belt, as special guest to the likes of Joe Cocker, The Eels and Cake, as well as invitations to perform at Woodford, The Big Day Out, the Falls Festival, Byron Bay's Bluesfest, Vans Warped and SXSW.

Anaid's organic and honest approach to songwriting has garnered a loyal fan base as well as critical success for her albums including 2004's Beautiful Obscene, which crossed Diana into the mainstream and saw her first international hit Last Thing securing festivals at home including Big Day Out and The Falls Festival.

On top of this, she has also received five ARIA nominations and counting.
