Aussies join queue for new iPhone

AUSTRALIANS can begin pre-ordering Apple's new iPhone 5 from tomorrow after it was unveiled in the United States on Thursday (AEST).

The phones, which Apple claims will be the thinnest smart phone on the market, will be available in Australia from September 21.

And while Apple promises the phones will boast a number of added features, they won't be cheap depending one the amount of storage you're after.

There will be 16, 32 and 64-gigabyte versions of the phone, costing $799, $899 and $999 respectively.
