Auction races to raise funds

LADIES, don't stress if you are still searching for a perfect outfit to wear during the 2012 July Racing Carnival, local woman Roz Petty is confident she can help you find something special.

The Good Samaritan is hosting a fashion parade and auction tomorrow to raise funds to assist disabled youths in Vietnam.

A colourful range of pre-loved vintage, modern and retro accessories donated by the community will be available for purchase.

Roz said she is confident of welcoming a large crowd.

"I hope a lot of people will come along and enjoy the modelling and auction of good quality clothes. The auction is for a very good cause," she said.

"I was inspired to help Vietnamese children after my daughter and I visited Vietnam in 2008 and volunteered in orphanages where we met children with physical disabilities.

"I could see the potential of those wonderful people and I wanted to help them." Roz added she is hoping to raise $1000 at the auction.

The proceeds will go towards purchasing surgical aids for disabled children living in Vietnam.

The fashion parade and auction will be held at the Riverside Church Hall in Bent St, South Grafton between 2-4.30pm.

Admission costs $10 and includes afternoon tea.

All are welcome to attend.
