THE scene outside Xavier Sullivan's house in Peppermint Place, South Grafton.

Our thoughts go out to Xavier and Claire and their young family.

Police were alerted to the fire at 8.30pm.

Fire crews at the scene said the fire is being treated as suspicious.

When crews arrived the blaze was so fierce it was threatening the property to the north.

"The boys did a great job to get the blaze under control," said South Grafton fire captain Dennis Pye.

The father of Mrs Sullivan, Brian Dobson, said he was thankful no lives were lost.

"You can replace anything, but you can't replace lives," he said.
