Freney smashes world record

SKENNARS Head swimmer Jacqueline Freney's gold rush at the London Paralympics continues to gather pace.

Overnight the 20-year-old smashed the world record to win the women's 200m SM7 individual medley final.

Freney posted a time of 2:54.42 to finish more than 10 seconds in front of her nearest rival.

Freney has also won gold medals in the 100m backstroke and 50m butterfly and has several events to go.
