Coffs Harbour High School students support Pakistani girl
IT CAN be easy for Australians to take education for granted, but a group of Coffs Harbour High School students have shown they are well aware how lucky they are.
About 20 students yesterday donned headscarves and staged a rally at the school to show their support for 15-year-old Pakistani girl Malala Yousafzai who was shot last month for promoting education for girls.
Year 10 student Sharna Hatehand said the class was disgusted to hear about Malala's situation and hoped she recovered soon.
"We stand by your side and by all girls throughout the world struggling to for equal rights and a decent future," Sharna said.
