THERE will be no senior cricket played on the Lower Clarence today as a mark of respect to Ian Durrington, whose funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon.

Lower Clarence Cricket Association secretary Darrell Simmons said the executive decided to call off the round when a large number of players said they will be going to his funeral.

"It's also a mark of respect for Ian and his family," Simmons said.

"Durro didn't play a lot of cricket, but he always tried to help us out. If there was anything he could do, he would do it. That's the type of bloke he was was."

His funeral will be held at 1pm at the Maclean Showground.

He will be buried at the Lower Clarence Lawn Cemetery.
