Man charged with illegal firearm

A MAN has been charged and will face court next month after police allegedly found an illegal firearm during a search of a house in Casino.

About 8.10am yesterday (Thursday 15 March 2012), officers attached to Richmond Local Area Command's Target Action Group executed a search warrant at a house on Oak Avenue.

Police allegedly located an amount of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a firearm during the search.

Two men and a teenage boy were arrested and taken to Casino Police Station.

A 20-year-old man was charged with possession of a prohibited drug and a number of firearms offences.

He was given conditional bail and will appear in Casino Local Court on 18 April 2012.

A 33-year-old man was charged with possess prohibited drug and given conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court on 4 April 2012.

A 16-year-old male was also charged with possess prohibited drug. He was given conditional bail to appear at Casino Children's Court on 18 April 2012.
