THE chance to worship at the altar of bright and shiny cars will make Grafton a Meccah for car enthusiasts next month.

Inspired by a love of cars and a desire to give something back to his home town, Todd Pearson has set about organising the Grafton Show and Shine at the Grafton Showground on November 3.

"I know enough people around town and I wanted to do something for my home town, plus there's no other event like this in Grafton this year," he said.

"When I found the showground was free on the Saturday of the Jacaranda Procession, it was meant to be. I loved it that it would give the Jaca Festival a boost as well."

Mr Pearson said enthusiasts from the NSW Mid North Coast to the Queensland border and beyond will bring their cars to the show.

Money raised from the event will go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

Entry details are on the Grafton Show n Shine 2012 Facebook page.
