Morrison takes top poll position

INDEPENDENT Rod Morrison from Brushgrove was first name to be drawn from the ballot and will take pole position as one of 17 candidates in the running for the upcoming Clarence Valley Council elections on September 8.

His name was drawn from the box by returning officer Cliff Mitchell in front of a small crowd of candidates and local media in Grafton.

The campaigner for a Brushgrove levee said protection of the township from flood would be his primary objective as the current council had ignored the community's plea to date.
