GRAFTON girl Tayla Monkhouse could become the next Miranda Kerr.

Tayla recently won the Goldwell hair-colour modelling comp and is off to London in October.

"I'm so excited about going to see London," said Tayla.

"Even just doing a catwalk in England, you never know you might get spotted by someone or even get an English agent."

Tayla is a born-and-bred Graftonian and a former student of Grafton High.

These days she is studying towards a fashion business diploma in Sydney.

Long-term, Tayla hopes to work as a counsellor.

"I just really want to help people and ultimately do something more rewarding than fashion."

Tayla is a self-confessed "gym-junkie" and funds her studies by working part-time at a Sydney gym.

Tayla said it was her father Wayne who suggested modelling.

"Mum (Helen) and dad are really proud and they are hoping to come to London with me.

"Thanks to everyone for their support especially my parents, my boyfriend and the whole of Grafton," Tayla said.
