Naden armed and dangerous

POLICE are warning members of the public in Northern NSW to remain vigilant of wanted man Malcolm Naden who is now believed to be armed with a semi automatic .22 calibre rifle.

Naden, an experienced bushman, has been on the run from police for a number of years and is wanted in relation to a murder in Dubbo and the attempted murder of a police officer at Nowendoc among other alleged offences.

Police attached to Strike Force Durkin believe Naden stole the weapon and ammunition from a property near Nowendoc in Northern NSW.

Police warn Naden is to be considered armed and extremely dangerous and have urged anyone who sees him to call triple-0 immediately and not approach him under any circumstances.

He is described as being 177cms tall with a medium build, brown eyes and is believed to have short dark hair and moustache.

A reward of $250,000 is currently on offer for information leading to Naden's capture.
