Newsroom update AM 27/8/12

THE Daily Examiner office was buzzing this morning with grand final fever.

We are delighted with the news the Grafton Ghosts are in grand finals in all three grades in the NRRRL competition.

And we are just as pleased the Grafton Tigers AFL Club has made the grand final of the North Coast competition. The sports department is all over this and are preparing an eight page grand final liftout for Friday's paper. And we will be keeping in close contact with both camps to see how the teams are shaping up.

We are also busy preparing to launch our latest Clarence Valley Council election feature, a series of 10 questions for each candidate to answer. We have brainstormed our list and are in the process of sending them out to the candidates and getting replies.

Lachlan Thompson will also continue his series asking each candidate to explain the key issues they see in this year's election.

He's also catching up with some views from the Iluka community

The Jacaranda committee also has some big news, announcing who will be this year's Jacaranda Matron of Honour and Guest of Honour. Emma Pritchard has just returned from interviewing the pair.

Dominic Zietsch is chasing up the Clarence Valley Historic and Enthusiasts Motorcycle Club which held a big ride plus a fundraiser at the weekend..
