Police pursue man on foot

A GRAFTON police officer has apprehended a man at Halfway Creek following a dramatic foot pursuit.

At around 9.15am, six vehicles were tasked to the scene, which was understood to have been near Benefields Rose Farm.

The officer has taken the man in custody and is calling for a caged truck to take him to Grafton Police Station.

There were earlier reports of a black Mercedes with QLD plates dangerously overtaking traffic crossing double unbroken lines through the road works at Moonee Beach though it is not yet clear if these incidents are related.
