THEY hail from Montreal in Canada and they're heading to Mackay.

Pop punk rockers Simple Plan, who have released their third album, Get Your Heart On, will play at Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre (MECC) on Wednesday, June 13.

Tickets for the show go on sale on Thursday, May 10.

Joining a tour that is already highly anticipated, with an already sold-out Gold Coast show, the Canadian boys will now be visiting Mackay and Townsville on their upcoming run of Australian east coast shows.

Showing their dedication to their enthusiastic and devoted fan base, the Simple Plan boys have toured everywhere from the Philippines to Brazil, bringing their high energy live show along for the ride.

Australian fans are set to get a taste of this action when Simple Plan hits our shores this June.

We The Kings and The Never Ever will not be joining Simple Plan at their Mackay show (We The Kings have to return to the USA to do the Warped tour).

Instead, bands local to the area will be showing Simple Plan what their town has to offer when they open the stage for the night.

Simple Plan's connection with its fans has translated into a string of hit singles including I'd Do Anything, Addicted and Perfect, from their 2002 double-platinum debut No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls; Welcome To My Life and Untitled (How Could This Happen To Me?), from 2004's platinum Still Not Getting Any; and When I'm Gone and Your Love is a Lie, from 2008's Simple Plan.

Overall, Simple Plan has sold nearly four million albums in the US and Canada and more than 7.5 million albums worldwide.

Simple Plan bassist David Desrosiers said they were proud of their third album.

"But now it's time to get back to the high energy songs.

"We were really itching to have a batch of fast up tempo songs, because they are really fun to play live," Desrosiers said.
