Soldiers criticial after troop carrier rolls
TWO soldiers were in a critical condition on Monday after a troop carrier with 18 Australian Army personnel aboard rolled at Holsworthy Barracks in Sydney's south-west.
Police said the vehicle rolled on a dirt road about 8.45am (AEDT) on Monday during a training exercise.
Military police and paramedics, as well as police from Liverpool Local Area Command, NSW Ambulance paramedics and a rescue helicopter, responded quickly to the crash.
Two of the passengers were flown by rescue helicopter to Liverpool and Westmead Hospital. Their condition was listed as critical.
A number of other passengers were injured, with several taken to various hospitals for emergency treatment.
Police from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit were examining the cause of the rollover.
