WELCOME to reality TV - the dramatic moment two personalities from the show The Shire were caught up in a violent fight involving knives at a Sydney cafe.

Vernesa Toroman and Sophie Kalantzis, the Botox-loving friends from the Channel 10 show, were said to have been caught in a "personal vendetta" before they became involved in a slapping, hair-pulling tussle outside a cafe in Rhodes, western Sydney yesterday.

Toroman, a former retail manager, suffered a black eye and scratches during the lunch attack involving Kalantzis and two other women outside Oliver Brown cafe in Rhodes Shopping Centre.

Some of the footage aired on A Current Affair last night showed an unknown woman threatening Kalantzis with a knife she pulled from her back pocket, before Toroman is seen arming herself with a butter knife from the cafe.

Shoppers watched on, some filming the clash with their smartphones, as the four women pulled each other's hair, threw punches and screamed obscenities.

GRAPE EXPECTATION: Watching your waste lines

Tar & Roses Heathcote Sangiovese (2014, $24): Sangiovese is a funny grape. Without food it can be thin and tart, like my first girlfriend, but take her to a restaurant and it all changes, she becomes all warm and friendly. It's a cargo cult alright. Rating: 8.8/10.
