HE'S loved her since Year 8 at Gladstone State High School.

And Brad Kruger married the girl who captured his heart all those years ago on March 27.

But sadly Keeana Kruger (nee Demidov) died overnight Sunday.

The 20-year-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma at 16.

Brad proposed after the doctors delivered the news earlier this year that Keeana had only months to live.

"I rang her dad and asked him if I could propose," Brad said.

"He said, 'Do it and make her happy'."

The Observer caught up with the couple last month.

The Krugers were still hopeful of a recovery. They shared their dreams to one day start a family.

Brad was still in awe of his girl. He said he was proud to be able to call her his wife.

The young man was unable to speak with The Observer yesterday.

A LOVE AFFAIR

It was always Keeana for Brad.

He started dating her friend in Year 8 but only had eyes for Keeana.

He finally built up the courage to phone her and ask her out to the pool.

They went the next day and shared their first kiss.

THE BIG DAY

The Krugers were married on March 27, 2012, at Canoe Point, Tannum Sands

Their big day was seven years after they began dating
