Ultralight aircraft crash lands on railway lines

EMERGENCY services are attending the scene where an ultralight plane has been reported to have crashed onto the railway line at Boambee, south of Coffs Harbour, just before midday today.

Police say initial reports indicate the aircraft, which is believed to be a Chipmunk ultralight or similar, had two people on board.

A male has sustained arm injuries while a female is reported to be uninjured.

North and southbound trains have been delayed while the rescue operation is underway.
