Western Sydney take 10th straight win versus Hearts

WESTERN Sydney claimed a record 10th-straight win to stay top of the A-League ladder after a Labinot Haliti double saw off the Melbourne Heart 3-1 at AAMI Park on Saturday.

In the night's other match, Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory shared the Big Blue derby spoils in a 1-1 draw at Sydney Football Stadium.

The Wanderers opened the scoring when the Heart failed to clear their lines from Mark Bridge's cross, before Aaron Mooy toe-poked for Haliti to sweep the ball home in the penalty area.

But Golgol Mebratu pulled it level for the Heart in the first half in stunning fashion when he picked up the ball outside the box and rifled in a shot past Ante Covic from 25 yards.

Despite battling to find a rhythm in the driving Melbourne rain, the Wanderers found themselves ahead in the second stanza, again through Haliti, as the forward dinked a finish past Andrew Redmayne on the hour mark.
