Clarence Valley Mayor Richie Williams presents Daily Examiner general manager Judy Lewis and editor Peter Chapman with the coat of rams of the City of Grafton.
IT was billed to be the biggest social event of the Clarence Valley year and few of the 360 people who attended would disagree that the 150th Daily Examiner Ball didn't live up to that tag.
The return home to Grafton of the Valley's number one singing group, the McClymont Sisters, backed by the Conservatorium Big Band and rock group, Los Garbos, provided an electric mix of entertainment.
The ball was sold out more than three weeks ago and those who snapped up the tickets would have been patting themselves on the back as they left the South Grafton Ex-Services Club at 1am.
The McClymonts, just back from recording their latest album in Nashville, revealed why they are now one of the top acts in Australia.
The only trouble now is it will be another 50 years before The Examiner has another serious reason to put on a black tie event.
All profits from the ball have been earmarked for the aged care unit at Grafton Base Hospital.

Why would you need to wait 50 years for another Ball?? In many Citys it is normal to have a Black tie event before a race meeting!
Hope we get to see more photos of the night
