IT'S almost time for the fashion event of the Jacaranda Festival calendar, and no we're not talking about Thursday's crazy Jaca dress-up so you won't see any bad cross-dressing at this show, it's the group fundraiser for the queen and junior queen candidates who will be wearing the latest fashions from the stores we know and love and our latest arrivals.

This 2009 Jacaranda Fashion Parade will be held on Friday night, August 28, 7pm at South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Club.

Fashions will be modelled by our nine senior Jacaranda Queen candidates and Matron of Honour elect as well as our 10 charming Junior Jacaranda Queen candidates.

Special guests, the 2008 Queen's Party and Matron of Honour and the 2008 Junior Jacaranda Queen and Princess will also model the latest fashions of the season and some dashing young gentlemen will provide some balance showing off a selection of stylish menswear.

The show will feature fashions from 15 local businesses including: Go Girlz, Big W, Mackellys, Sussan, Coco Rosie, Clothes Pegg, Low Pressure, Lasting Impressions, Hope Chest, Target, Jay Jays and Rockmans.

The Jacaranda Committee is also excited to introduce fashions from new stores that have opened in Grafton in the last year including Colorado, Blossum & Co and MantoMan.

This event keeps getting bigger and better and Directors Karen Hackett and Tracey Lawson are very excited to be able to bring this event to the catwalk again.

The night will be MC'd by Shirley Penning and Nick Wells, while Andrew Roberts will be supplying the music.

Behind the scenes will be just as busy. The junior candidates' hair will be styled by Twisted Scissors and make-up looked after by Nutrimetics. The senior candidates hair and make-up will be courtesy of UNWIND's own 'Style Gurus' Sharon Fallon and Kerry Di Mattia.

Tickets to the show are $10, and available from the Jacaranda office, queen and junior candidates, and on the door on the night. A complimentary supper will be provided
