John Cooper found this bandy bandy at a friend's Nymboida farm.
SNAKES are clearly on the move with countless calls made to WIRES on the weekend from distressed Clarence Valley residents.
One such call was made by Brooke Burton, of South Grafton, as she had a close call with a 1.5 metre deadly eastern brown snake on Sunday.
“I was closing the gate after driving, parking the car in the carport, and my fingers were literally about 10 centimetres away from this huge snake,” she said.
“I screamed and climbed on top of the car. My husband didn't believe me, and neither did the WIRES man.”
When David Cole arrived from WIRES, he moved a wheelie been to discover a large, healthy, four-year-old brown snake.
“It really scared me. I couldn't sleep on Sunday night, the adrenaline was still pumping,” Ms Burton said.
“I have lived in Grafton for 15 years and have never seen a snake. It is definitely not an experience I would like to have again.
“Wires told us to clean up the yard, keep the grass short and get rid of any rubbish to prevent more coming into the yard. That will be next weekend's project.”
A run in with the spectacular looking bandy bandy snake was also experienced over the weekend, with John Cooper grabbing one off a friend's organic farm in Nymboida.
“This is the second bandy bandy I have pulled off his farm in about six months,” he said.
“I think these small snakes hang around because of the mulch on his farm.”
