Flood funds approved

THE State Government has announced a number of grants to Clarence Valley organisations to help them recover from flooding in May this year.

Labor Duty MLC for Clarence Greg Donnelly said the Iluka Rowing and Aquatic Club would get $2000 to help repair damage to a boat shed.

He said the Grafton Rifle Club would also get $2000 to help repair a target mantlet.

The Grafton Clay Target Club had been approved to get $2000 to help repair broken windows, tables, cupboards, chairs and an air-conditioner; and the Grafton Pony Club would get $2000 to help repair a cross-country jumping course.

Mr Donnelly said the funding was part of the Government's Natural Disaster Assistance Scheme, which is used to help sporting clubs affected by natural disasters.
