TRIMBLE Ensbey and Associates have gone from the intimate ensemble to the full-blown production as they chase their third consecutive Gold Cup on Jacaranda Thursday.

The accounting firm merged with Westlawn Finance last year and in addition to their combined financial expertise, they have also put together a powerhouse cast for tomorrow’s street theatre.

One of the driving forces behind the show, David Ensbey, said the cast of 33 had been rehearsing for four or five weeks.

The show’s theme is a western saloon and will feature three songs and two tunes for the can-can dancers.

“We’ve gone from a cast of seven or eight to a cast of 33 with another 10 behind the scenes,” Mr Ensbey said.

“The beer budget has certainly gone up.

“It’s great that everyone in the office is involved in one way or another.”

He paid tribute to the efforts of Greg Watkins, who has run rehearsals and always takes a leading role in productions.

“Greg always wants to be in everything. He is the real driving force behind the productions,” Mr Ensbey said.

He said the bigger cast had not caused too many problems.

“We had a system that worked and we have just scaled it up for the bigger cast,” Mr Ensbey said.

Mr Ensbey is passionate about the Jacaranda Thursday performances.

“It all comes back to performing for the people,” he said.

“People always enjoy our shows. We use to have around 200 watching us when we performed outside the sewing shop.”

The cast held a full dressed rehearsal yesterday and will approach tomorrow’s performances extremely confident.

The Trimble Ensbey/Westlawn Finance performance will he held outside the Radio 2GF office under the big fig tree.
