WWI memorial in need of some TLC

A WORLD War I memorial at Newton Boyd will be restored if the Clarence Valley Vietnam Veterans Association (CVVVA) has its way.

The memorial was built by Norman Archibald MacDonald but more information is needed.

“Many members of the families located in the area gave up their lives and are remembered on this memorial,” said CVVVA secretary Lorraine Burt.

“Five members of one family appear on the memorial”

The CVVVA would like to speak to descendants of the soldiers who appear on the monument to deepen its understanding of the memorial.

Call Mrs Burt on 6649 4186.
