Chrissy and Mark Foster surrounded by part of the extended Foster clan.
CAMPERS at Yamba haven’t been put off by Tuesday night’s downpour – in fact some of them are lapping up the cooler temperatures.
Onsite manager of the Calypso Caravan Park, Brett Morgan, said he knew of no party who had abandoned camp because of the rain.
Mark and Chrissy Foster, from the Gold Coast, said they were enjoying a break in the heat while camping at Calypso. The rain, they said, had not stopped them or their kids from enjoying the river and beaches.
“The kids are independent here – we only see them when they want food,” Chrissy said. “The rain seems to drain pretty well.”
Mark noted the little bit of wet was better than last year when many sites were inundated with water.
The couple is camping till Saturday with three kids of their own who brought two of their friends. They are part of a larger group of six families camping in the same vicinity.
