The northern region’s new police commander, Carlene York.
THE newly appointed top cop for the northern region had her first day on the job yesterday.
Assistant Commissioner Carlene York, who was most recently Commander of the Forensic Services Group, said she looked forward to overseeing police operations in the region, which incorporates Coffs/Clarence.
“This community has faced some major events in recent years and, with an ever-expanding population, my team will continue to rise to the challenges of everyday life,” she said.
“I am excited to be beginning a new phase in my policing career and look forward to meeting the officers at each command as well as the people who make up the northern region community.”
Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said Ms York was an experienced and skilled commander with a ‘track record of innovation’.
“I know that she will bring those qualities of leadership, innovation and management expertise to bear in her new role and I wish her well, very much in the knowledge that she will serve her community with distinction,” he said.
