Magazine spread is blooming beauty

OUR beautiful Jacaranda City features in the latest edition of Marie Claire Australia magazine because apparently lilac is the new "in" colour this season.

Model Daria strikes up a conversation with a local in a photo published in the March edition of Marie Claire Australia Magazine. More photos in Unwind.

DO you remember a leggy, blonde, Russian model walking around the Jacaranda City a few months ago with a photographer, stylist, hairdresser and make-up artist in tow while the jacaranda blossoms were in bloom?

Now you can see the finished product in the current issue of Marie Claire Australia magazine, and play a bit of spot the local while you are looking.

The reason Marie Claire made the trek to the Clarence Valley was all in the name of high fashion, according to Jane Roarty, an executive fashion editor with the publication.

“Lilac is going to be one of the biggest colours of the autumn/winter season so it is exciting to use the beautiful jacaranda blossom in our shots,” she said.

“We try to do our photo shoots all over the country to make the shots real and add uniqueness to our fashion spreads, which our readers appreciate.”

Some of the locations used in the 12-photo spread were See Park, Kent Street, the Jacaranda Queen crowning, the Jacaranda Ball and Market Square.
