Isaac Bolton.
LOWER Clarence’s Isaac Bolton has held off the challenge of 51 other entrants to grab national gold – and a healthy dose of recognition - at the 2010 Australian Rowing Titles.
Victoria’s Lake Nagambie hosted the event which saw the best young rowers around the country unite for their shot at stardom.
And Bolton was quick to grab his chance by taking top honours in the Schoolboy Single Scull competition.
Others to impress were a Lower Clarence quartet who snared bronze in the under-19 women’s Quad Sculls.
Leah Saunders (stroke), Lismore’s Sophie Dansie, Lower’s Stephanie Smith and Grafton Rowing Club’s Briony Edgar held off the challenge of a quality field to take their spot on the podium.
Saunders and Dansie showed they were no one-trick ponies by backing up to claim bronze in the women’s under 19 Double Scull to make it two medals from the meet.
