Police urge input at Yamba forum

THE NSW Police Northern Region Aboriginal Advisory Committee will outline objectives and take information on board at a meeting in Yamba on Wednesday.

The committee urges the public to attend the forum in the Palms Room, Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort, in Yamba Road, 10.30am-12.30pm.

The meeting aims to bring out to the Lower Clarence community the key people charged with progressing Aboriginal issues at the local level.

The Lower Clarence community will have the opportunity to hear from Northern Region representatives, including NSW Police Force Policy and Programs personnel, Aboriginal community liaison officers and region police spokespersons.

Detective Chief Inspector Jason Breton, the Coffs-Clarence Local Area Command Aboriginal Issues spokesperson, will roll out the command’s achievements and future direction.

Northern Region Commander, Assistant Commissioner York said it has been the region’s policy to involve its community in progressing Aboriginal issues.

“The meeting will allow the community to hear from those who are charged with coordinating development of programs, and contribute to the discussion.”

Police said interested community members are cordially invited to attend, listen and most importantly, participate at the forum.
