Grafton Pony club ready for action

Kiara Joe and her Grafton Pony Club team-mates will have a practice run on Hawthorne Park on Sunday.

THE Grafton Pony Club is hoping that practice makes perfect when 15 members of its squad saddle up on Hawthorne Park on Sunday.

In a final preparation run before the last gymkhana of the year in Caberita, the youngsters will take to the park from 9am to 3pm.

Despite having about 100 members on the pony club’s books, only a select band of qualfiers will make the long trek to Caberita.

Grafton parent Siobhan Jackson said the event would test the determination of the club’s riders, who range in age from five to 25.

“We usually have bigger numbers but seeing it’s so far away it’s only the keenest ones going,” Jackson said.
