IN honour of Father’s Day being celebrated this weekend, Dads4Kids has organised a series of seminars and workshops to help dads get involved in their children’s lives in a positive way.
One of the organisers behind the event, John Wyborn, said the time had come for dads to be more involved in their children’s lives.
“It is really important for dads to be involved in kids’ lives. We play an important role in all kinds of development, especially social,” he said.
“Fathers have to acknowledge that their effort will never be forgotten and be humble enough to always see that there is room for improvement.”
The events have been in the pipeline for about four months.
“We have an excellent speaker, Warwick Marsh, who founded Dads4Kids in 2002, at all of the events,” he said.
During the seminars, there will be a range of courses, books and DVDs available.
On Friday, a meeting with ministers, counsellors, social workers, psychologists and chaplains will take place at St Andrew’s Christian School, Clarenza. The session will kick off at 12.30pm and there will be a light barbecue lunch.
To RSVP to this event, call Ian on 6647 3468 by 5pm today for catering purposes.
On Friday afternoon, a seminar personally presented by Mr Marsh will take place. The seminar is called Seven Secrets for Success to Fatherhood and will go ahead at the Salvation Army Hall in Oliver Street, Grafton. Admission is a $12 donation and the seminar will take place at 7pm.
To RSVP to this event, call Ian on 6647 3468 by 5pm today.
A men’s breakfast will then be staged at the Riverside Church, South Grafton on Saturday from 8am.
