THE tickets to the Causley Fresh Gate to Plate luncheon have well and truly sold out, and no amount of begging or bribery will get you admission.

However, foodies of the Valley who missed out on one of those prized degustation luncheon tickets need not fear.

Thanks to a bit of ingenuity from event organisers, the Gate to Plate weekend will now also feature a Food Trail Bus Trip and a Masterclass on September 10.

The Food Trail Bus Trip is the first of its kind in the Valley and is proudly supported by the Clarence Valley Council.

This year the food tour itinerary will focus down river of Grafton and is packed with food- related experiences.

The food trail will be hosted by well-known restaurant critic Simon Thomsen (Daily Telegraph, Iron Chef and Sydney Morning Herald), who will share a story or two about the foodie world.

The tour will include a visit to local Espresso Botero roast house in Maclean, Andrew Carroll’s Mulloway fish farm, Yamba Prawns at the Lighthouse, sampling at Causley Fresh Deli, lunch at the Harwood Hotel with chef Tony Young, a stroll through Enders Olive Grove and a masterclass at Tweed Valley Whey and Channon Wines, where you will learn all about cheese and how to pair it correctly with wine.

There are limited tickets, so if you would like to treat yourself to a great day out, jump in now and book your ticket.

The tickets are $75 and include lunch, samples along the way and the masterclass.

The bus can pick up from Grafton and Maclean.

Bookings for the bus can be made online at www.gatetoplate.com.au or by phoning the Grafton Regional Gallery on 6642 3177.

Tickets to the masterclass only can also be purchased for $30.

Proceeds of the tour will benefit the Gallery Foundation.
