THREE words sprang to Noel Smith's mind when he arrived at his Prince St shop yesterday morning: "Enough is enough."

The prominent local business owner was disappointed and disgusted when he saw vandals had smashed a front window in his store, Low Pressure Surf Co.

The attack comes two weeks after a string of businesses in Prince St were targeted by vandals on January 16, destroying a number of windows and glass doors.

Although spared last month, the Thursday night attack on Low Pressure marked the second time the store has been targeted in two months. And Noel's had enough.

He believes installing CCTV cameras in Prince St would reduce vandal attacks.

"They (vandals) cause so much damage here," he said.

"I'm looking at between $800-$1000 to repair my window for the second time and a lot of local businesses have had enough.

"We need to work as a collective to get something done.

"CCTV would help protect the businesses in the area and the Chamber of Commerce will be taking that approach to council."

Noel believes the vandalism comes from "a mixture of the influence of alcohol and idiots".

He was also frustrated the security system installed at Low Pressure failed to activate during the attack.
