MUSIC-lovers in the Clarence Valley are in for a treat this weekend with the world-renowned Chamber Philharmonia Cologne group to perform at Grafton's Christchurch Cathedral on Sunday night.

The group is comprised of a number of talented classical musicians from Australia and overseas who perform a selection of pieces from some of history's greatest composers such as Bach, Handel and Vivaldi.

A spokesman for the group said one of the goals of the tour was to bring live classical music performances to regional areas which may ordinarily miss out.

For this reason, the spokesman said Grafton was always included on the tour and said the group always enjoyed playing in the Cathedral with its "excellent acoustics".

The group will perform at the Christchurch Cathedral at 8pm on Sunday, however audience members are asked to arrive about an hour earlier.

Tickets at $30 for adults, $25 for pensioners and seniors and $20 for students are available from the Cathedral Bookshop at 16 Duke St, Grafton, or at the door (if not sold out).
