TO CELEBRATE the launch of the National Year of Reading 2012, a number of exciting events will be occurring at our
libraries this Library Lovers Day - February 14, 2012.
For centuries February 14 has been known as Valentine's Day, a time beloved of romantics.
Now a new era has begun with Library Lovers everywhere claiming the day for the objects of their special affection: Australia's libraries.
In celebration of Library Lovers Day and the launch of the National Year of Reading the Clarence Regional Library is
launching a "Caught Reading" Photo Competition - details will be available from your library and on the website
www.crl.nsw.gov.au from February 14.
The Clarence Regional Library is also launching a DVD collection at Grafton, Bellingen and Nambucca libraries.
These DVDs will be available from February 14, with a limit of three DVDs per library member for a three week loan.
The collection will cover titles not usually available from commercial lending venues including, lots of great
documentaries, kids and adult TV series, old classic movies, movies of books and more.
For students, a new database ? "Cambridge Companions Online" will be available.
This will enable students to delve deeper into the lives of individuals who have shaped our history and literature.
Cambridge Companions are lively, accessible introductions to major writers, artists, philosophers, topics and periods.
We will once again be offering our popular "Blind Date with a book" activity and our Guessing Competition for the
Most Borrowed Book for the year.
A box of chocolates is on offer at each library for the individual who guesses correctly.
