$15 million boost to library program

THE NSW Government will boost the Public Library Infrastructure Grants Program by $15 million.

Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis urged the Clarence Valley Council to apply for funding.

"Public libraries are particularly important for regional communities, which is why the Nationals pushed hard for this extra funding," Mr Gulaptis said.

"The grants will help local libraries develop a greater range of services, particularly in multimedia, so I encourage our local councils to submit applications before the October 31 deadline.

"I'd also encourage locals to use our libraries more - they are a wonderful but underutilised free resource for the community."
