31-year-old man charged with terrorism offences

A MAN has been charged with terrorism offences following raids in Melbourne and central Victoria yesterday.

The 31-year-old man, from Braybrook in Melbourne's west, has been charged with preparing or planning a terrorist act and collecting or making documents likely to facilitate a terrorist attack.

He was arrested yesterday after Victoria's Joint Counter-Terrorism Team raided properties at Braybrook, Bacchus Marsh, north-west of Melbourne, and Tatura, in central Victoria.

The man appeared before a bail justice early this morning.
