A 24-YEAR-old man has been ordered to return to Maclean and live with his parents after being granted bail on a series of cannabis charges on the Gold Coast.

Ethan Cranney appeared before Southport Magistrates Court last week after police allegedly discovered $800,000 worth of cannabis and sophisticated hydroponic equipment in a Southport home. He has been charged with possessing, producing and trafficking a dangerous drug.

Police allege the house, owned by Cranney’s brother, contained 150 mature cannabis plants and 1.055kg of cannabis in sealed bags.

The Gold Coast Bulletin reported that Cranney was granted bail on conditions including he reside with his parents in Maclean and not enter Queensland except to attend court or see his solicitor.

The matter has been listed for review on March 30.
