$9.65M to go to waste services

RECYCLING enterprises have been urged to apply for a share of more than $9.6 million made available as part of the Resource Recovery Facility Expansion and Enhancement Program.

Round two of the funding program is now open. The program offers grants to increase recycling of household and business waste in NSW with the objective of reducing landfill. Grants are available for councils, business and industry which operate existing licensed waste management facilities in the levy paying area.

A funding pool of $9.65 million is available in this round to cover up to 50 per cent of the capital costs of recycling projects.

Individual grants are available from $100,000 to $1 million to purchase new or upgrade existing recycling equipment where it can be demonstrated that the equipment will boost waste processing capacities.

For enquiries phone the EPA Waste and Resource Recovery Branch on 1300361961 or email infrastructure.grants@epa.nsw.gov.au. Grant applications close October 9. For application forms and guidelines visit environment.nsw.gov.au/grants.
