Firefighters battle 500 square kilometre Yosemite blaze

FIRE FIGHTERS are battling to control a large blaze burning in the popular Yosemite National Park in California.

The blaze, which is burning across 500 square kilometres, is only 5% under control and has threatened 5000 homes.

The BBC reports the fire is also threatening a major reservoir serving San Francisco.
