Looking at plants helps us concentrate says new research

LOOKING at greenery for as little as 40 seconds could help boost people's concentration, a University of Melbourne study shows.

The study, published on Monday, tested 150 students in a "boring, attention-sapping task".

Given a 40-second break during the task, half the students were given a concrete rooftop to look at, while the others were given a flowering green roof.

Researchers found those who looked at the greener view made fewer errors and had better concentration on the second half of the task, compared with the others.
