Police investigate armed robbery

DETECTIVES are investigating an armed robbery which took place at a Coffs Harbour service station on Monday night.

Police allege at about 9.30pm, a man armed with a shotgun entered a petrol station on Harbour Drive and threatened the 23-year-old male attendant.

The man allegedly stole an amount of cash from the register before fleeing the scene - no shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.

Police from the Coffs-Clarence Local Area Command responded to the incident and established a crime scene which was examined by forensics officers.

Local detectives are making inquiries in a bid to find the man who was described as being approximately 30-years-old, 170cm tall with a slim build and reddish-blond hair.

At the time of the incident he was believed to have been wearing a dark blue raincoat.
