A GROUP of Belgian skydivers have died after the small plane carrying them crashed in Belgium on Sunday.

The Agence France-Presse reported the 11 people on board died after the plane crashed about 10 minutes after take-off at a regional airport in Belgium.

Reports suggested the right wing of the plane fell off during mid-flight, with some skydivers attempting to survive by jumping from the aircraft.

The AFP reported the plane went down about 4pm (local time), some 75km south-east of the capital Brussels, with local authorities investigating.
