Woman in bedroom injured during drive-by shooting

A DRIVE-BY shooting that ended with a woman injured in western Sydney on Sunday morning has sparked an investigation by New South Wales Police.

The 26-year-old woman was shot in her left shoulder while in a front bedroom of a home in Campbelltown at about 4am on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to the Lindesay Street house after "a number of shots" were fired into the house, and the woman was treated at the scene.

She was then taken to Liverpool Hospital for further medical treatment.

Witnesses told police on Sunday the shot may have been fired from a small grey or silver hatchback.

Officers from Operation Talon, a state police group fighting public place shooting in Sydney, believed the incident to be a "targeted attack".
