Woman wearing blood-soaked singlet arrested over stabbing

A CASINO woman wearing a blood-soaked singlet was arrested on Saturday morning for allegedly stabbing her partner in the face and arm.

Richmond Local Area Command Sergeant Craig Ahrens said police were called to a Small St address following a 000 call reporting someone had been stabbed.

"Upon arrival an officer saw a woman run from the scene and attempt to scale a fence," he said.

"When police chased the woman they noticed she was wearing a blood-soaked singlet."

Sgt Ahrens said officers caught and arrested the 22-year-old woman.

"Witnesses told police the 22-year-old male victim suffered stab wounds to the face and his arms," he said.

Sgt Ahrens said a crime scene was established and detectives were called.

"Police seized a number of items from the location for examination."

The woman was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was refused bail.

She will appear before the magistrate at Lismore Local Court to apply for bail at 9:30am today.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said the man was taken to Casino Hospital in a stable condition suffering a laceration to his arm.
