LES Warren is living proof age is no barrier.

Athletes, morning joggers and families with prams lined up for the sixth annual Jacaranda Fun Run yesterday.

Among them was 95-year-old Mr Warren, making his first start in the community event, entered in the 2km section.

"I've had lots of encouragement, so I thought I would give it a try," Mr Warren said.

Mr Warren trains at Waves Fitness in Yamba and said he has kept active most of his life including numerous treks in the Blue Mountains.

In total there were 423 entrants on the day with 170 in the 2km, 179 in the 5km and 74 in the 10km.

Also spotted limbering up for the 2km race was Clarence Valley Mayor Richie Williamson.

"It's great to see the numbers growing and all the families coming out together," Cr Williamson said.

"It's all good fun in the sun and brings out the Jacaranda spirit."

Yamba's Lindsay Wall won the 10km in exactly 34 minutes.
