Aaron Bolton on road to stardom
THE latest addition to the string of Clarence Valley-raised country music success stories is Grafton lad Aaron Bolton.
Aaron, who celebrated his 25th birthday yesterday, has just been announced as a top 10 finalist in the Telstra Road to Tamworth competition and as a result will get to perform at one of the biggest celebrations of Country Music in the land.
Aaron spent most of his younger years in Grafton and now lives in Tamworth. He has also enjoyed success in the national talent competition Australian Idol by making it to the top 40.
“I work in a bar in Tamworth six nights a week and play gigs on the weekend, so I’m pretty excited to have an opportunity like this,” Aaron said.
“I just want to have a go.”
Aaron’s performance and singing style has seen him being compared to Keith Urban. This is not surprising given that he really likes the pop country sound.
That is where he would ultimately like to take his music.
Funnily enough, the talented musician now lives in Tamworth but as a finalist, was given $1000 to assist him in getting to the country music capital.
The 10 finalists will progress to the final round of the competition, which will be held during the Tamworth Country Music Festival on January 19, where more than 50,000 country music enthusiasts gather each year.
The winning performer and songwriter announced at the final in Tamworth next month will each receive a return trip to Nashville, the global home of country music and songwriting.
They will also receive recording and performance opportunities, along with a full suite of talent development and support tools designed to progress their professional music careers.
