Abbie joins the showgirl quest

ABBIE RAI Cooper is one of the contenders for the Grafton Showgirl title.

“I am looking forward to seeing a different side of the show and I think it will be a great experience,” she said.

The 22-year-old, from Grafton, hopes to make new friends and get some training in public speaking through the competition.

“Showgirl is something I have thought about doing in the past, so I thought I would go for it this year,” she said.

Three days a week Abbie is involved with Community Programs Incorporated and volunteers at the Sunshine Club in her spare time.

“We make food for the elderly within the community at the Sunshine Club. I find it very rewarding because helping out makes me feel good,” she said.

She also enjoys heading to the coast where her family has a beach house.

“We go to Woolgoolga a fair bit during the summer,” she said.

“I love to swim and my brother taught me how to surf and that is really fun too,” Abbie said.

When she gets the chance, she likes to get her creative juices flowing and gets out her scrapbooking kit.

“I took up scrapbooking about three years ago and I love it.

“You can make all sorts of different things and they can make really nice gifts,” Abbie said.
